Yesenia earned a BA in Biological Anthropology from Dartmouth College and an MSW from Boston University. Their interdisciplinary background in anthropology, social work, and community organizing informs a practice rooted in storytelling, cultural continuity, and community care.
They are a founding member of Nuestra Tierra Artist Collective, collaborating on projects that celebrate Mexican and Indigenous histories through contemporary art.
Yesenia is currently an artist-in-residence at Art on Main in Dallas, where they are preparing a solo exhibition opening January 16, 2027. Their work will also be featured in the upcoming Nuestra Tierra Artist Collective exhibition at the Mattie Rhodes Center on September 4, 2026.
